Sustainable floristry workshop photography for Floribunda Rose
Every so often a photography job comes in that sets my heart aflutter, and anything that comes from Sarah at Floribunda Rose is assuredly one of them. Sarah asked me to cover two wonderful afternoons of floral delight with her ‘Introduction to Floristry’ course students (it’s a 3-day workshop perfect for those considering a career in floristry and wish to use seasonal British flowers and work without floral foam).
Working with florists and flower growers is one of my favourite outlets for my photography as a flower addict and obsession with capturing hands at work. It also was one of the first joyful work outings out seeing people face to face for me in some time since the pandemic. It made the experience all that much sweeter.
Having run creative workshops myself, I understand the importance of good, beautiful and useful photography for promoting future events, as well as creating a portfolio of work for the workshop giver and students alike. When beginning in business good imagery is one of the hardest parts to master and acquire, so I particularly loved making sure each student had good coverage not only of their magnificent work, but also of themselves. This two-day event really did combine a lot of wonderful photography advantages with some brand imagery created not just for Sarah a Floribunda Rose, but also for her students as they head into the next steps in their floristry career.
I was astounded by the student’s skill (a huge well done to Laura, Denise, Candice and Sarah - I’ve no doubt these ladies are set to wow the floral world), as well as Sarah’s gentle encouragement and depth of knowledge.
